Alianait Presents April Verch

Internationally acclaimed fiddler, singer, songwriter & stepdancer April Verch will perform on May 26, at Nakasuk School, starting at 7:30pm.

This is the 3rd concert in Alianait’s 2012 Concert Series. Others in the series line-up include Nova Scotia singer-songwriter Dave Gunning, Australian singer-songwriter David Ross Macdonald and roots / blues singer-songwriter Suzie Vinnick.

2012 Festival Line-Up

The 8th annual Alianait Arts Festival takes place June 29 to July 2 and the 2012 line-up of performers includes Greenland folk-rock sensation Simon Lynge, Brazilian jazz chanteuse Fernanda Cunha, calypso favourites KoboTown, soulful and bluesy singer / pianist Ann Vriend, Nunavik’s Zebedee & Jeannie Nungak and Saali featuring Chucky Keelan, Washboard Hank & Lance Loree, Toronto Indie band The Donefors, Vancouver’s soul, funk, hip hop ensemble Buzy B & the Honeycomb Kids and Nunavut’s The Jay Jays , The Jerry Cans, Esther Powell & the Roughcuts, Agaaqtoq, Kikkukia, and Sikusilaaq Band.

Festival Design Competition Winner Announced!

Alianait and the Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association have found a design for this year’s competition! Hundreds of votes were made from people all over Nunavut and around the world. Naya Maurice, of Iqaluit, was voted as this year’s winner!
