Italian-born Quebec musician Marco Calliari is well known on the Canadian music scene, having performed for 15 years as a member of the Montreal metal group Anonymus. A couple of years ago, he revealed a new side of his talent and musicianship with the release of Che la vita, a collection of Italian songs inspired by his culltural folklore and other influences, ranging from jazz to worldbeat.
Calliari won the CBC-sponsored Galaxie Award at the Rouyn-Noranda Emerging Music Festival and was featured at the Ritalfest, celebrating Italian music in Quebec. He also received a nomination in the “cosmopolitan” album category of the 2005 MIMI (Montreal International Music Initiative) Awards.
