Artcirq is a circus and video company based in Igloolik, Nunavut. A permanent company of young Inuit artists presents its shows and films throughout the world harmoniously combining tradition and modernity. Artcira is a social circus project that enables youth to get to know themselves and each other better in an original way; developing a new communicative vocabulary through circus body language. Artcirq has collaborated with over 30 international artists and many circus companies, bridging South and North in a language created by the performers.

The Iqaluit Music Society is a registered charitable society, formed in 1996 to promote the learning, sharing and appreciation of traditional and contemporary music. They lead the organization of an annual Music Camp, community orchestras, bands, choirs and other musical groups and public performances, and provides financial and leadership support to school music programs.
Inhabit Media Inc. is a small Canadian, Inuit-owned publishing company that aims to promote and preserve the stories, knowledge and talent of Northern Canada.
For the last two years , Inhabit Media has been promoting research in Inuit mythology and the traditional Inuit knowledge of Nunavummiut. The rich mythology of Canadian Inuit, relatively unknown outside of Nunavut, has motivated us to begin work on many exciting publishing/media projects. Watch for the release of these publications over the next few years.

The Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum features artifacts, artwork and interpretive displays representing the local and regional culture and history. The Museum also hosts traveling exhibitions, special events and community programming. Open year round with free admission, 2009 marks the 40th anniversary of the Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum Society, Nunavut’s longest running heritage organization.
Nunavut Arts & Crafts Association
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Nunavut Arts and Crafts Festival. This is a very significant milestone in working on developing and nurturing Nunavut’s arts economy. This year NACA will bring artists together to participate in demonstrations, workshops, exhibitions, sales and an all day forum on the arts of Nunavut. The Festival includes workshops, retail opportunities for artists and provide up-to-date information for artists on what’s new and available in the art world.

The Languages Commissioner’s mandate is to protect language rights. These rights apply to Nunavut’s official languages—Inuit (Inuktitut and Inuinnaqtun), French and English. The present Languages Commissioner, Alexina Kublu, receives, investigates, and reports on concerns from the public regarding language rights. The Languages Commissioner also does public education and advocates for Inuit language rights. This includes encouraging its use so that it remains a foundation for Inuit culture. In addition, she also monitors the implementation of the Inuit Language Protection Act.

Qaggiq Theatre Company is a non-profit organization based in Iqaluit Nunavut with a mandate to promote and explore Inuit culture and to create opportunities for youth to express themselves through the performing arts. Qaggiq provides artistic, professional and life skills development opportunities through the exploration of traditional Inuit stories, legends, songs and dances.
